Delicious food, great oyster options. The staff were friendly and attentive. Nice spot for a casual date night.

I recently visited this spot in Petaluma for happy hour after hearing so many friends rave about it. Initially, I was a bit skeptical since I'm not typically an oyster fan. My past experiences with baked oysters had been just okay, so I wasn't sure what to expect. However, since they were part of the happy hour specials, I decided to give them another shot. I ordered the baked oysters (Rockefeller and Miso Butter flavors), and I was pleasantly surprised, they were fantastic! I also took the plunge and tried raw oysters for the first time, and I'm so glad I did. They were incredibly fresh and delicious. While the oysters were a standout, I wasn't as impressed with the other dishes, like the clam chowder and ceviche. I'd rate those around a 3/5 stars, they were fine, but nothing to rave about. The service was fast, and the staff was friendly, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The restaurant itself is pretty small, so seating can be limited, but making a reservation definitely helped. Overall, I'd come back for the oysters alone, but I'm hoping to find some other menu items that stand out more next time!

The Shuckery is a great spot for fresh seafood in Petaluma. The oysters are incredibly fresh and well-prepared, and the menu offers a nice variety of dishes to choose from. The atmosphere is relaxed yet polished, making it a good choice for both casual outings and special occasions. 10/10 The Shuckery is a solid dining experience worth checking out if you're in the area.

What we ordered: -Fresh Seasonal Shrub (3/5) -Whiskey Sour (3.5/5) -Raw Oysters (5/5) -Single Baked Oysters - Rockefeller/Butter Miso (4.5/5) -Ceviche (4/5) -Clam Chowder (1/5) -Fries (4/5) _ We visited The Shuckery for their daily happy hour, which runs from 3-5 PM. Since they were fully booked for happy hour the day before when we tried walking in, we made sure to reserve a table this time. We sampled a variety of dishes from the menu, but the standout items were definitely the oysters--both raw and baked with miso butter. They were absolutely delicious, and we ended up ordering over a dozen raw oysters! Unfortunately, the clam chowder was a bit of a letdown--it was bland and lacked that rich seafood flavor we were expecting. The service was quick, and the ambiance was warm and inviting. The restaurant is also connected to a charming hotel, which is worth checking out for its cozy vibe. Overall, I'd definitely return for happy hour--especially for the oysters!

The food was delicious! I tried the mussels, octopus, and calamari which were all very tasty. Each dish had a unique flavor that made each of them memorable, in a good way. It's a smaller sized restaurant and unfortunately had a hard time with the noise levels for my parents. We did go out on a busy Friday night so maybe not quite as loud on a weekday! I miss the days they had the outside seating.

The Shuckery is the real deal and a perfect spot for all seafood lovers! Hands down one of the best happy hours in downtown Petaluma! They also have happy hour seven days a week from 3-5 PM so if you can't make it during the week, stop in on the weekend! A couple of favorite menu items includes: - Fresh oysters that rotate daily - Ceviche with cod, which is so refreshing - Fish tacos that are scrumptious! - Calamari - Cauliflower wings - And of course the Della Fattoria bread basket that comes with garlic, olive oil and tomatoes! I highly recommend making a reservation in advance even for happy hour! The Shuckery is intimate, and they fill up quickly especially on the weekends!

This is such a cute place in the cute town of Petaluma. We ordered the Clam Chowder Bread Bowl, Calamari and fish tacos. The Clam Chowder was delicious! The Calamari was different than I ever had, it had fried jalapeños and fried radishes along with it. So yummy! The tartar sauce was also delicious. The fish tacos were so good, fried fish and fresh. I'm not an oyster fan, but the trays of oysters coming out to other customers looked good and you can tell they are popular here, hence the name Shuckery. Our waiter was attentive and was giving everyone around us great explanations of the oysters, sauces, and special dishes. We were driving through on our way back to Sacramento from the Bay Area and decided to stop in Petaluma to hopefully bypass traffic and I'm so glad we stopped. If you are ever near the area this place is worth the stop.
